25 years of Living Wage
2026 marks 25 years of the Living Wage movement
For a quarter of a century, the Living Wage movement has helped reshaped what fair pay looks like in the UK.
What began as a hopeful idea, driven by low-paid workers in East London organising for fair pay, has grown into one of the most successful civil society campaigns of the 21st century.
The real Living Wage makes a huge difference to thousands of workers, strengthens businesses and helps support a fairer society. As we mark this major milestone, we’re celebrating how far the movement has come and setting out a clear vision for the future: creating work that works for everyone.
We’re celebrating being part of the Living Wage movement since it began 25 years ago.
