The campaign for a real Living Wage has ensured hundreds of thousands of workers are earning a wage they can live on, not just the government minimum. But millions of low paid workers are also struggling to get the hours they need to make ends meet.
The solution: Living Hours alongside a real Living Wage
The Living Hours programme builds upon the existing Living Wage accreditation. Employers who join the scheme commit to providing:
at least 4 weeks’ notice for every shift, with guaranteed payment if shifts are cancelled within this notice period.
a guaranteed minimum of 16 working hours every week (unless the worker requests otherwise)
a contract that accurately reflects hours worked
Wales first living hours accreditation
“We are proud to be one of the first Welsh companies to gain the Living Hours accreditation. We’re excited to be paving the way for other Welsh companies to do the same and ensure they’re paying staff fairly, especially in these trying times.”

“We are thrilled to be one of the first Living Hours Employers in Wales! Alongside our Living Wage Accreditation, this will ensure that we will always provide our employees with fair pay and conditions both now and in the future. As a small business, we would like to encourage other smaller businesses to consider working towards both of these accreditations – they are great for our workforce and are open to companies of all sizes.”
