Dydd Gwyl Dewi 2024 – Cardiff as a Living Wage City

Dydd Gwyl Dewi Hapus! Happy St. David’s Day everyone! You might have heard the popular saying in Wales, “Do the little things in life”. This saying comes from our patron saint’s final sermon, where he advised his followers to be joyful, keep the faith, and do the little things that they have heard and seen him do.

This St. David’s Day we’re celebrating the inspiring journey that Cardiff has been on to become a Living Wage City. Especially the little things that people contributed along the way that made it all possible. Thank you to Cllr Huw Thomas the Leader for Cardiff Council for sharing the story with us.

Let’s take a moment to celebrate the little things that can make a big impact. This vibrant city embraced change and established itself as an example to others of how a city can put fair pay at the heart of its philosophy.

Dydd Gwyl Dewi Hapus pawb! Efallai eich bod wedi clywed y dywediad poblogaidd yng Nghymru, “Gwnewch y pethau bychain mewn bywyd”. Daw’r ymadrodd hwn o bregeth olaf ein nawddsant, lle y cynghorodd ei ddilynwyr byddwch lawen a chedwch eich ffydd a’ch cred, a gwnewch y pethau bychain a glywsoch ac a welsoch gennyf i.

Ar Ddydd Gŵyl Dewi eleni rydym yn dathlu’r siwrnai ysbrydoledig y mae Caerdydd wedi bod arni i ddod yn Ddinas Cyflog Byw. Yn enwedig y pethau bach a gyfrannodd pobl ar hyd y ffordd a wnaeth y cyfan yn bosibl. Diolch i’r Cynghorydd Huw Thomas, Arweinydd Cyngor Caerdydd am rannu’r stori gyda ni.

Gadewch i ni gymryd eiliad i ddathlu’r pethau bach a all gael effaith fawr. Croesawodd y ddinas fywiog hon newid a sefydlu ei hun fel esiampl i eraill o sut y gall dinas roi cyflog teg wrth galon ei hathroniaeth.
